78 Years of Excellence

• 1937 – Bunch Sheet Metal Works founded by Harold Bunch
  • Shop located at 1414 W. Idaho St.
  • Furnace and tin fabrications for chimney tops, gutters, and coal furnaces and stokers
• 1944 – Harold’s son Bill Bunch is killed on the USS Johnston after being attacked by Japanese kamikazes off the coast of the Philippines during World War II
  • Harold closes the business after news of his son’s death
• 1945-1948 – Following the end of World War II, our owner, Steve Bunch’s grandfather Albert “Ab” Bunch starts Bunch & Wassler Sheet Metal with his friend Ernie Wassler
• 1949 – Bunch Sheet Metal Works becomes Bunch Sheet Metal & Heating
  • Ab Bunch left Bunch & Wassler to go into business with his brother Harold
  • Shop moved to State Street at Strawberry Glen
• 1959 – Harold retires and sells the business to Ab
  • Ab’s two sons Don and Jerry join the family business
• 1968 – Don and Jerry purchase the business from Ab
• 1989 – Jerry purchases the business from Don and becomes sole owner of Bunch Sheet Metal & Heating
  • Moves business from State Street location to E. 44^th Garden City
• 1992 – Jerry’s youngest son Steve returns to Boise from Louisiana to join the family business as a service technician/installer
• 1994 – Jerry builds our current shop at 4939 E. 49^th Garden City
• 2011 – Our current owner Steve Bunch takes ownership of the company
• 2016 – Bunch Sheet Metal & Heating re-branded to Bunch Heating & Cooling
